Our Prep curriculum and opportunities beyond the classroom, whether it’s sport, music, extracurricular activities or clubs, encourage our pupils to give a great deal to school life and therefore gain a great deal from it.
As an independent school we don’t follow the national curriculum. Instead, we lead an enriched curriculum designed to inspire pupils to embrace challenge at every opportunity.
We aim to provide our Prep School pupils with a well-rounded education. Therefore, our curriculum goes above and beyond the national framework. Here is how our curriculum is different:
Children at Yarm Preparatory School have a platform from which they can thrive. For example, our mathematicians are highly successful in the UK Junior Mathematics Challenge, whilst our best musicians regularly perform in regional and national ensembles. Equally, our sports teams compete in national tournaments against many of the top schools in the North East of England.
Above all, children in Year 3-6 thrive in our happy and purposeful atmosphere where there is always a ‘buzz’ of activity and learning is a pleasure.
Academic success, challenge, leadership opportunities, team work, respect and pride in our School are fundamental cornerstones of life at Yarm Prep School and beyond.
