The transition from Reception is seamless. It is carefully planned for and supported by a Pre-Prep curriculum that is tailored to suit each individual child. As a result, life in Year 1 and 2 is a lot of fun and builds directly on the bright start children have made in Nursery and Reception.
Our freedom as an independent school allows us to truly develop the key skills we wish for our children. Our curriculum also fires up the imaginations of our pupils and cultivates an abundance of natural curiosity in every child.
Our bespoke, creative curriculum is different to the national curriculum framework for key stage 1:
Beyond our Pre-Prep curriculum, children in Year 1 and 2 have the opportunity to participate in a diverse extracurricular programme. Singing Sensations, drama, chess, dance and more adventurous experiences such as rugby, horse riding and baking are all on the agenda.
The Pre-Prep curriculum is further supplemented with termly trips. Special visitors and events also help to enhance the childrens’ early learning and development.
Life in Pre-Prep is superb preparation for Year 3 and beyond. Every child leaves Year 2 primed to make the most of the exciting and adventurous opportunities that lie ahead in Preparatory School.
