We would love for you to visit our forthcoming Career Convention on Thursday 27th April. It promises be to a most exciting event and is a great opportunity to explore some early ideas about careers, receive valuable advice and guidance from professionals, and to make some good connections for the future.
The event is happening on the evening of Thursday 27th April at Yarm School. It starts at 6.30pm and finishes at 8.30pm. There will be lots to explore so we would encourage you to try to be there from the start.
No, please just come along on the evening!
At the event there will be a huge number of delegates wanting to share their experience and expertise. We will have around 30 universities and colleges of further education. There will be a diverse range of professionals from the healthcare sector, business and finance, sport, tech and IT, law, marketing, the Armed Forces, the civil service, retail, design, engineering, media, property, apprenticeship providers, and so much more…
There will be an optional talk on the evening:
All parents and pupils from all schools across the region are most welcome to attend. So please spread the word to your friends and family.
The event is mostly aimed at parents and pupils from Year 10 to Year 13. Younger pupils are also welcome. Those around Year 10 will have the chance to see such a diverse range of future professions, planting seeds for their own future. Pupils in Year 11 and Year 12 will be able to focus on these professions in more detail, finding advice and even work experience opportunities, as well as information from the universities and training providers. Those in Year 13 whose plans are maybe already in place for next year can make valuable contacts with companies and professionals that will help them in their next steps and decisions.
Parking will be available on site at the Senior School and Prep School sites. We expect it to be a busy evening so it will be easier for you if you arrive at the start of the event. Additional parking can be found in the High Street.
You are most welcome to bring a group of students from your school, or they can visit on their own. If you arrive by minibus our ground staff will help direct you to the best parking spot. If you are coming by coach then I would advise you to email me at se@yarmschool.org so we can make the best arrangements.
We look forward to seeing you there!
