We are looking to recruit an energetic, innovative and experienced DT Workshop Technician / Machinist to support our thriving well-resourced, modern and vibrant Design and Technology Department. Health and safety is paramount and the daily maintenance of machinery and general practical working areas is a key focus of the role. It will involve computer-aided designing for our flat bed CNC router as well as hands-on practical workshop skills.
This is an exciting and hands-on opportunity to work in a busy and exciting DT department, involving support across all areas of Design Technology, both in and out of the classroom. Each day is varied and will require energy and enthusiasm for working with children.
A proactive problem solver is key to the role and someone who has experience with young people is desirable. The successful candidate has to be willing to work as part of a collective team and be able to adapt and overcome under pressure and tight deadlines. Someone who has had experience in working with a range of different machines is desirable as well as a deep understanding of both metal and woodworking skills.
