Home » Vacancies » Visiting Cello & Double Bass Music Teacher
Deadline Date: 05th August 2024
We are seeking to appoint a talented and qualified cello and double bass teacher to join our team of Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs), to start at the beginning of the next academic year (Sept 2024). This is a self-employed position and the amount of work available will depend upon the number of pupils wishing to take individual cello or double bass lessons. The current cello teacher has approximately 2.5 days of work per week at Yarm School, which includes 1:1 tuition in the Prep and Senior Schools, small group cello teaching in Prep School and the running of musical ensembles in both parts of the School. We aim to start young double bass players in the Prep School, so the ability to encourage and nurture young pupils is essential, along with a desire to contribute to the school’s busy co-curricular musical programme. The lesson rate for 2024-2025 is £18.75 per half hour lesson.
Applications should be e-mailed to the Acting Head of Music, Mr Rob Williams, as soon as possible and no later than midday on Monday 5th August. The school reserves the right to interview before the closing date if appropriate to the context of the field.
Early applications are therefore very much encouraged.
Applications should be submitted to: rob.williams@yarmschool.org
