Home » Calling all young rowers in the North East
We are delighted to introduce an exciting opportunity for young rowers in the North East to enhance their rowing skills during the summer holidays. Yarm School, home to a well-established and successful boat club, is renowned for developing excellent young rowers year after year.
Our summer camps are designed to cater to rowers of all ages and abilities, offering a structured program focused on training, skill development, and enjoyment on the water. The goal is to provide rowers in the North East with professional coaching and a clear path for improvement ahead of the new club season in September.
Taking place in August, the camps will be led by Yarm School’s experienced rowing coaches, with a low coach-to-athlete ratio of 1:8. This ensures every participant receives personalised guidance and support in a nurturing environment.
The camp is based at Yarm School’s state-of-the-art boathouse on the scenic River Tees, the ideal location for both technical and endurance training. The River Tees is a dream for rowers, offering a 20 km stretch of sheltered, flat water with a low stream and minimal flood risk. Protected from strong winds, it provides consistently smooth conditions, perfect for high-performance training. Equipment will be provided, with athletes training in both single sculls and crew boats. If an athlete wishes to bring their own single scull, we can accommodate outdoor storage for the duration of the camp.
Join us this summer at Yarm School Rowing Camp to refine your skills, build friendships, and enjoy the joy of rowing on the River Tees!
