Renowned scientist, Professor Lord Robert Winston, visited Yarm School to speak to Third Year pupils about science, ethics and politics as part of our SPaCE programme.
Lord Winston is Professor of Science and Society and Emeritus Professor of Fertility Studies at Imperial College London. He is well known for his TV work which included Child of Our Time and Your Life in Their Hands.
Lord Winston talked to pupils about his fascinating career before taking questions about a wide range of topics: his career, who his inspirational figures are, about his life in politics as a member of the House of Lords and ethics in science.
Lord Winston generously gave his time, staying back to answer more questions from pupils interested in his career to date.
SPaCE sessions (Social, Personal and Citizenship Education) help prepare pupils for life challenges. SPaCE is a part of Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education at Yarm School.
