Fixtures

Yarm School welcomes all spectators from visiting schools to its sports events and fixtures. In accordance with HMC guidelines for schools, we are keen to emphasise the value that parental support at school fixtures brings to the experiences of the pupils involved. At the same time, this bestows on all supporters a responsibility regarding their conduct to ensure that players are influenced appropriately. Code of Conduct for spectators.

Home Fixtures
Venues
Sport is played at several different locations within Yarm. These are all shown on the map below.  Aislaby is used for senior rugby. Green Lane is the primary site for junior and Prep School rugby up to under 15 and all senior cricket. Any change to this pattern will be indicated on the school web site.
Parking - For large block fixtures parking is limited. Spectators are requested not to park on the grass verges directly outside of the gates at Green Lane, but parking on the road is permissible.

Netball and Tennis are played on the Friarage, the Senior School site. Junior Hockey is played on the school site at both the Preparatory and Friarage sites.   For senior fixtures we use several local artificial pitches; these are normally Norton Sports Complex and Thornaby Academy. These are indicated  on a separate map.

Visiting coaches and mini buses should use the main school entrance on The Spital. (Please disregard the one way system on Saturdays.) Parking is reserved for coaches on the hard standing area at the bottom of the school drive. Preparatory school team coaches should park on the spital and walk up Grammar School Lane to the Preparatory School site.

Hospitality
The school offers changing facilities for teams and visiting staff are expected to oversee this. Visiting teams are responsible for the collection and safekeeping of their pupils’ valuables during matches. Whenever possible a locked changing room will be provided, but this cannot be guaranteed. The school cannot accept responsibility for the loss of personal effects.

After the matches hospitality is provided for visiting teams. Spectators are also welcome to join staff and pupils. Teas are normally served in the school Dining Hall.

Medical
All our PE / Games staff hold basic first aid qualifications.  We provide additional first aid cover for all block fixtures.

In addition Yarm school games staff have completed the First Aid at work course.  First Aid kits are available on each pitch /court; these are primarily intended for Yarm school players and visiting teams are requested to bring First Aid kits specifically for their teams.

Although not compulsory Yarm school strongly recommend the use of mouth-guards and shin pads.

In the event of a player being taken to hospital they will be taken to either James Cook or North Tees hospital. Maps for both are below.

Risk assessments for the playing fields and facilities have been undertaken and are available on request.
