ICT
At Yarm School we are continuing to make advances in the provision of our computer facilities, and for the most part, ICT has become an integral part of the learning experience. The School has 6 well-equipped computer rooms for class and group activities along with many machines around the School, which can be used for private research and study. All classrooms have network points, and the majority of rooms have either a projector, an interactive whiteboard or television which enables access to a range of multimedia teaching resources. There is also a bank of laptops for class use.

ICT is studied as a separate subject in the First and Second Year where pupils gain an understanding of the programs available on the network which also benefits across the curriculum. In Fourth and Fifth Year, pupils can opt to take ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence). The qualification is recognised by employers and universities across Europe and is administered by the British Computer Society.
ICT is also available in Activity Lessons and all First Year pupils will have an opportunity to study touch typing and Lego Mindstorms.
