School Council

The children vote annually to select form representatives who attend half-termly meetings of the School Council.  School Council is led by the Head Boy and Girl, with the assistance of the Head who takes notes.  Following discussions held in PSHE/form tutor time, the School Council representatives put forward ideas and discuss matters of importance to the children at School Council.  Following meetings, a resume of all the matters discussed is posted on classroom notice boards and circulated to staff.  Thereafter, staff discuss the issues raised by children at a staff meeting and any actions are agreed upon.

The Head Boy and Head Girl sometimes give feedback to the children about important issues during school assemblies.  The School Council is seen as an important way to involve children in the life of the school and to assist them in developing a responsible attitude to the whole school community.
