Year 5 trip to London - Day 3
Friday 16 March 2012
Year 5 assembled bright and early for their final full day in the Capital.
The day commenced with a flight on the London Eye, affording breathtaking views in each direction of the compass. We then donned our sea legs and took a relaxing boat trip along the Thames, spotting famous landmarks along the route.
From here we had lunch and then proceeded to marvel at some old masters in the National Gallery. The children relished the opportunity to discuss and debate the finer points of these paintings and impressed the museum guides with their knowledge and ideas.
Next stop, the Houses of Parliament, where superb guides revealed the historical secrets of past monarchs and the procedures followed by our present government.
Our trip culminated in our final supper together at the superb ‘Ask’ restaurant where we dined in style and reminisced fondly over the events of the last few days.
