Mrs Rhodes’ Fourth Year Business Studies group were challenged to come up with a marketing plan for a Yarm School Calendar as part of their introduction to Marketing.

As part of the task each pupil had to design a concept and deliver a pitch explain their marketing plan to business guru, Alastair Thomson, Dean of Teesside University’s Business School and Yarm School Governor.
All the pupils worked hard and produced work to be proud of. However, there were three prizes judged by Alastair:
Best concept - Harry Thompson - his was for a calendar that was targeted at pupils and could be customised for the year by pupil interests and would feature any key deadlines they had. It would be customised by ordering on line and the data would be pulled from databases
Best pitch - Abi Riley - very thorough detailed confident presentation
Best marketing plan - Ben Gray - this included detailed costings - had a lot of research and was based on idea of Teesside's Industrial Past
