A Life Lesson for A-level Artists
Tuesday 28 September 2010
AN ARTIST from the Royal Academy of Art ran a one-day life-drawing workshop for A-level art students.

The workshop encouraged students to draw the model in a variety of poses in quick succession focusing on creativity rather than perfection. Students experimented with charcoal and colour chalks to depict light and shadows.
Head of art, Ms Liz Stebbings, was delighted with the students artwork produced, “It is a great experience for our students to be involved in a life drawing workshop run by the Royal Academy of Art. Students often draw from pictures therefore a life workshop provides an opportunity to refine their observational drawing. We work with a variety of art galleries and institutions to provide a range of inspiration to our students.”
The art department at the school recently celebrated a record year for A-level results.
