Read full news story...A wide variety of scholarships is offered. Scholarships are awarded competitively on merit and the value can be high as 25% of the tuition fees, although most of them are of lesser value.
Academic Scholarships
11+ Scholarships are held for 5 years and are awarded based on the performance in the Entrance Assessment. They are awarded to external and internal applicants who all take the same assessment. Only those of outstanding ability are likely to qualify for one of the major awards but a number of lesser awards are also made. The Preparatory School likewise has a small number of scholarships available to pupils of outstanding ability.
Music Scholarships
Music Scholarships are also offered throughout the Senior School. There are no age limits but of course the pupil's age is taken into account. A high standard of achievement for the age of the pupil is expected on two instruments (or one instrument and voice); candidates may also offer composition at 16+. Retention of such an award is subject to excellent musical progress and a high level of involvement in the musical life of the School. Auditions normally take place each February.
