We are delighted to welcome Dr Lara Menzies and Dr James Picket to deliver the first talk in this year’s open lecture programme entitled “Where Can You Go With An Interest in Science?”
Lara and James are both based in Central London and their professional roles involve them working in two key areas of medical research - paediatric genetics (Lara is based at Great Ormond Street Hospital) and Alzheimer's disease (James is the Head of National Research at the Alzheimer's Society). Both are leading experts in their field with Lara's PhD on Obsessive Compulsion Disorder attracting attention across the world, and James speaking nationally and internationally on the urgent need to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. It is hoped that the event will be of interest to pupils who have ambitions to pursue a career in medicine, as well as those with an interest in those specific areas of medical research or Science in general.
The lecture will be held in the Lecture Theatre on Friday 6th October and it will begin at 4.30pm. It should last approximately one hour including time for questions.
If you would like to attend the lecture, please email Mrs Harrison (email@example.com) Additional spaces can also be reserved for family and friends of Yarm School.
