Both the U16 and U19 netball squads have qualified for the National Schools Netball Competition, the biggest schools’ competition in the netball calendar, and will represent the North East.
The fantastic results came after a series of thrilling matches at the England Netballs National Regional tournament at the Beacon of Light in Sunderland. The U16s played seven games to qualify and the U19s reaching their success after six games, with both teams only losing one match.
Both teams are now through to the last 18 schools in the country and will play in the finals at Stanborough School in Welwyn Garden City on 16th March.
This is a fantastic achievement, and the first time we have had two squads qualify. We are very proud of our teams, their commitment and hard work, and they deserve every success. At Yarm School, sport and activities outside of the academic environment are very important and provide our pupils with self-confidence, interpersonal skills and interests that will carry through to their working and personal lives.
