We are delighted to welcome Tom de la Motte and Calum Henderson to Yarm School to deliver the next lecture in this year’s open lecture series, “The Construction of the New Queensferry Crossing”. The Queensferry Crossing is a stunning and globally unique bridge which forms the centrepiece of a major upgrade of the cross-Forth transport links in Scotland.
Tom de la Motte is Managing Director of the Infrastructure Division of Galliford Try and is responsible for turnover of £450m and 1000 staff in delivering all the company’s infrastructure projects, including major schemes such as the Queensferry Crossing. Calum Henderson has worked on the Queensferry Crossing for 4 years as a senior engineer on the bridge construction and will be able to give first-hand experience of the challenges involved in constructing this iconic structure. This presentation should be of interest to all pupils and particularly those considering a career in Engineering or a related field.
The lecture will be held in the Lecture Theatre on Wednesday 17th May and it will begin at 5pm. It should last approximately one hour including time for questions. If you would like to attend the lecture, please email Mrs Harrison (email@example.com) Additional spaces can also be reserved for family and friends of Yarm School.
