Careers at Yarm is interpreted in the very broadest sense; it is as much about preparing students for future decisions, gaining insight into courses and training, and securing vital exposure and experience, rather than simply finding that perfect job.
As part of this process and building on the success of last autumn's huge Career Convention, this year will see a series of focused career cluster events, focusing on a particular area of study, training and employment. The first of these will be held on the evening of Tuesday 12th September and will be dedicated to exploring and advising on the world of 'Finance, Accountancy, Management and Economics'.
The format for the evening is designed to deliver the utmost in advice, guidance and expertise by presenting a number of panel discussions with guests drawn from the above areas of employment. We are excited to have garnered the support of a range of speakers who will each profile their own education, training and career route, and then engage in a discussion with the audience through a series of questions from parents and pupils. We feel this format provides the very best opportunity for your son or daughter to gain expert insight into a possible future direction. There will also be an opportunity for all guests to mingle more informally in order to network and ask additional questions.
The event is open to all pupils from the Fourth Year to the Upper Sixth and it has been designed to deliver advice across this age range.
Should you have questions about this event please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Additionally if you know of other friends or family members, be they at Yarm School or another school, they would be most welcome so please do pass on these details.
